Job description

The Early Years Alliance is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. An educational charity, the Alliance represents the interests of over 14,000 member settings who deliver care and learning to over 800,000 families every year.

The Alliance provides early years qualifications and apprenticeships across England and we are looking for tutors and assessors to support us to deliver our training programmes.

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate candidates to deliver our high-quality early years training, including Apprenticeships, standalone qualifications and professional development programmes.

We are looking for experienced candidates with up-to-date knowledge of the National Occupational Standards in Child Care and the Early Years Foundation Stage, who are keen to ensure our teaching programme remains of the highest quality and continues to produce excellent early years educators.

Main duties :

Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering tuition assessing and providing constructive feedback. Travel to complete workplace assessments, employer reviews and support the endpoint assessment process for apprentice learners will also form part of this role. Other duties include :

  • To deliver training that inspires and motivates learners to achieve their personal and career objectives and qualifications.
  • To plan and teach effective learning for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, including in classrooms, on-line and in workplaces.
  • To assess with fairness and integrity, ensuring that learners receive constructive and timely feedback so that they know and understand what they have achieved, and what they must do to further improve.
  • Essential criteria :

  • Hold an accepted vocational assessor qualification eg A1 or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
  • Have own transport and be willing to travelling reasonable distances to undertake workplace assessment and monitoring visits.
  • Be con fi dent in the use of ICT to promote and support teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in the subject / vocational area, and aware of the needs and concerns of employers.
  • Hours per week : As and when required
