Slitter (paper-based manufacturing)
Due to the high demand in filtration media / paper-based manufacturing, our well established client is looking for a Slitter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within paper-based manufacturing, have a good work ethic and be happy to work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
This role offers excellent benefits and training. Due to the rural location on the outskirts of Bishops Cleeve own transport is essential.
Key Tasks :
- Receiving / interpreting orders and calculating reel widths. Ensuring correct reels / packaging materials are to hand.
- Loading reels on to the slitters, threading paper through, calculating / setting up knife bars, making the necessary adjustments, checking / rechecking the set ups and then operating the slitters. Watching for / correcting faults and reporting any problems to the Finishing Manager.
- Running small orders together to avoid wastage, operating trim / dust extractor units, and ensuring samples / sample coils are taken when necessary
- Removing coils, recording details, marking coils (manually or stamp) and passing them for packing
- Assisting with reel upending, stencil cutting, centre cutting, printing machine, circular saw and computer input when required.

- Training operators and controlling their activities, checking that coils etc., are correctly marked / packed and records are accurate
- Carrying out minor maintenance, keeping area clean and tidy, ensuring dust / trim bags are removed / replaced, assisting with packing, baling waste as necessary.
Package :
Salary band of £32760 - £38700 depending on experience.
