ABOUT YOU

As a Senior Shift Engineer you will be responsible for leading the shift-based Maintenance Engineering team and ensuring the seamless operation of production lines during your shift.

You will collaborate closely with the Engineering Line or Site Owner, including overseeing Site Services, Blends, Filling, and Packaging, to execute all planned maintenance activities efficiently. Additionally, you'll work alongside the Site Shift Manager to deliver key performance metrics related to Safety, Quality, Performance, Cost, and People Development.

You will bring a blend of hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to solving technical challenges.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous flow of production, driving the team to achieve optimal performance while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. If you're passionate about leading a team, improving processes, and making an impact, we’d love to hear from you.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of production lines by performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, overseeing a skilled team of engineers and technicians, and swiftly resolving any technical issues that arise.

You will be responsible for maintaining a strong focus on safety compliance and ensuring that all operations align with health and safety regulations. Additionally, you'll keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment status, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and performance.

WHAT I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

You are a strong Senior Shift Engineer with a strong background in engineering, ideally having completed an Indentured Apprenticeship and holding an ONC / HNC in an engineering discipline. You should have over 5 years of experience in an FMCG environment, with bottling experience being an advantage. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of asset reliability techniques and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a mechanical, electrical, or multiskilled background. A foundational understanding of process control systems is required, with the ability to adapt and learn quickly. Basic computer skills and an openness to embracing new technology are essential, along with good manual dexterity and the ability to perform manual handling operations. A "right first-time" attitude, problem-solving capabilities, and a strong commitment to customer service are also key attributes for this role.
