Altrad Sparrows are looking for Proposal Lead (Africa contracts) .
The role is mainly for our operation in Africa. However, this is purely based in Aberdeen with no requirements to travel.
This is a permanent contract with full-time hours of 40 per week.
The main purpose of the Proposal Lead role is to lead a team that will be capable of supporting Altrad intended growth in the Angola regional through preparation of robust proposals for targeted projects and will be required to follow the 7-step Altrad Sparrows Business Acquisition Process which involves :
1. Identify Opportunities – Position Altrad to take advantage of new geographies and new product lines. Search all markets and identify all opportunities.
2. Select Target – Create the optimum project portfolio for Sparrows assets
3. Prepare to Win – Focus our attention on selected opportunities
4. Develop the Solution – Develop a slam dunk project execution plan
5. Execute the Proposal – Capitalize on the preparatory work
6. Clarify the Offer – Close the deal
7. Prepare and present Handover – Handover the project summary for Projects >

Main responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities
Specifically the scope includes :
o This includes reporting our as-bid data as well as tracking the award of projects either to Sparrows or our competitors and reporting accordingly
o In conjunction with the Commercial Manager ensure that the business unit has the capacity, resources and equipment available to successfully execute the projects bid
o In conjunction with both Sparrows and Prezioso Angola Senior Management and Sparrows Commercial Manager ensure that tenders are properly selected, prepared and reviewed to be consistent
o In conjunction with the both Sparrows and Prezioso Angola Senior Management and Sparrows Commercial Manager bid only projects where we have a reasonable chance of success taking into consideration the customer, the competition and the risks involved
o Ensure that a capture strategy is developed for all new prospective work.
o Encourage technical and commercial innovation.
o Support the development of the project execution plan in conjunction with the Commercial Manager and Operations Director
o To prepare and submit proposals without errors, on schedule, in accordance with the Client specifications and to develop the Basis of Bid within the red zone and approvals matrix process
o To win additional work for Altrad at agreed margins of profit, with all risks identified and quantified in accordance with Altrad procedures and guidelines
o Support Commercial Manager and both Prezioso and Sparrows Senior Management with detailed back-up and analysis as well as relevant correspondence, clarifications and Proposal Documents
