Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging science lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs

Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, inquiry, and critical thinking

Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt the curriculum to ensure all students can access and enjoy science content

Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities

Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel confident to express their ideas and ask questions

Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their learning experience

Collaborate with the SEN team and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students

Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote science education and encourage students to engage with scientific concepts outside the classroom

Experience and Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching science, preferably in a special educational needs context

Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for students with learning difficulties

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering positive relationships with students

A clear DBS check

Legal right to work in the UK
