Baler Operator and Fork Truck Driver job - Essex

Overall Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the operation of their designated production, mixing and packing plant.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify production requirements for each day working to the Production Plan.
• Complete safety checks and paperwork prior to plant being sorted out.
• Start plant up according to plant requirements e.g. recipe, product type etc.
• Regularly monitor plant for performance ensuring that operational efficiency is maximised.
• Ensure plant is operated in a safe manner.
• Regularly check product quality according to guidelines set by quality control.
• Monitor and take appropriate action to minimise waste build up on the plant to ensure continual smooth running of the operation.
• Aim to achieve KPIs with regard to product quantity and quality.
• Report any issues with regard to safety, quality or operational performance to the Shift Supervisor, Quality Department / Production Manager.
• Shut down plant in a safe and controlled manner.
• Undertake specific cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Ensure that product changeovers are completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
• Carry out tasks and provide support in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
• Attend meetings and training where appropriate.
• Ensure work is undertaken in line with the Health & Safety standards that are enforced throughout the company.
