Job summary

Beaumont Lodge Medical Practice is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team of Receptionist / Administrators in this part time role.

Please note the working pattern is mainly 1pm - between Monday to Friday.

You may be required to work an ADHOC Saturday (enhanced rate of pay).

Main duties of the job

You will be the first point of contact for patients, both in reception and on the telephone. There are a full range of tasks and duties that our receptionist assists with to help keep the surgery running smoothly.

Full training will be given and the opportunity to progress after the six month probationary period.

About us

We are a practice of almost 7000 patients across two sites. We have two GP partners and host registrar doctors. We have a full nursing team, admin team and full complement of additional roles such as Clinical Pharmacist, Mental Health practitioner and First contact Physiotherapist.

This role has a wide range of duties including answering queries, andmaking appointments by telephone and face to face, carrying out tasks for thedoctors and wider team, plus a range of other project work.

The role would suit an aspiring team leader to Assistant Practice Manager.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Essential -
  • Must be able to demonstrate at interview, good telephone manner and empathetic way of dealing with the patients.
  • Good computer skills
  • Exceptional timekeeping skills
  • Flexibility

Desirable

  • Experience in general practice or the wider NHS is desirable but not essential as we give full training for this role. Our surgery uses systmone software.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of dealing with the general public in challenging situations is essential.
  • Experience of telephone and face to face contact is necessary.
  • Excellent computer skills are required, and experience of Office 365 is advantageous.
  • Desirable

  • Experience of working in the NHS or primary care is desirable but not essential.
