Job description

Are you from an administration background and looking for a varied, customer-focused role? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Developer Services team as an Administration Assistant.

The role offers a hybrid of office and home working. Initially, we would look to have you in the office permanently so we can provide training. Once you are self-sufficient, your role will see you working in the office three days a week and at home for the other two days.

What you'll do

In this role, you will deliver excellent customer service and provide helpful advice by phone, letter and email, as well as acknowledging all new applications and correspondence, ensuring you maintain accurate and full records via our in-house systems.

You will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating appointments for our site-based staff, processing credit card transactions, recording incoming payments and producing confined spaces permits for our approved contractors.

What you'll need

We are looking for someone who can deliver great customer service and has a positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn new skills, and the confidence to make decisions using logical and informed judgment.

To be successful in this role you will be :

  • a confident communicator and enjoy finding solutions to customer challenges
  • dealing with a wide range of queries, so the ability to absorb lots of information and relay that knowledge is important
  • highly organised and able to prioritise your workload to ensure you deliver an excellent service to all stakeholders
  • IT literate and have a good understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

What you'll receive

  • Total pension contributions up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary, subject to conditions.
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
  • Who we are

We are one of the top-performing water and sewerage companies in England and Wales, serving 2.9 million people across the South West.

The work we do goes beyond providing an essential public service. We also aim to have a positive impact on the communities we serve and the natural environment.
