Job descriptionBachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools, including : PDCA, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Whys, APQP4Wind Leadership experience in production engineering Background in welding, fabrication, and machining environments Passion for developing engineering talent and driving innovation Membership (or Fellowship) in a recognised professional institution (preferred) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences Competitive base salary 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays 5% employer pension contribution Medicash health plan Private medical insurance Life insurance
I am delighted to be recruiting an Engineering & Technical Manager to join our client in driving engineering excellence and innovation in the Offshore Wind sector.
Key Responsibilities :
- Establish, control, and maintain production standards for welding technology, process reliability and equipment performance
- Lead process innovation and development initiatives
- Reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through continuous improvement principles
- Drive research, development, and innovation to enhance operational efficiency
- Ensure all processes and product handling meet safety standards
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain operational controls
- Lead and develop a team of production and welding engineers
- Manage change programs, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for improvement in engineering tools and methodologies
