Believe in people.The role12 month contract availableWe are looking for a capable and experienced individual to advocate for us within a court setting. This role will be based in East region and would involve covering court locations mostly in Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Its worth noting the Income team work collaboratively and the team support each other across the wider area, so monthly team meetings, 1 : 1 could involve travel to our offices in South, or Midlands (expenses covered)We are ideally seeking for someone with a housing background within debt recovery. You will have managed arrears cases both over the phone and / or face to face. You will be robust, pragmatic and professional in your approach. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to articulate a clear message in challenging circumstances. You will be flexible in your approach to work and be able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.What you'll achieveAct in line with our arrears recovery process, making possession claims where our recovery attempts fail.Represent Orbit in the County Court at possession hearings and applications.Prepare all court documentation and witness statements.Liaise with legal representatives in person, via email and calls.Work jointly with internal teams to ensure the best outcomes for Orbit and our customersBe able to review case notes and make effective decisions.What you'll bringEssential skillsAn understanding of best practice in arrears collection and of related legal issues in relation to debt recoveryA good understanding of domestic budgeting, debt management, welfare reform and benefit regulationsUnderstanding of housing law, legislation, and Civil Procedure Rules.Experience in court etiquette, case law, court directions & implications of the Equality ActExcellent IT skills and attention to detail with the ability to prepare and review case files.Own transport to be able to commute to different areas across the SouthDesirable skillsExtensive experience in court representationRelevant legal qualificationWhy Orbit?Choosing us means being rewarded in every sense.Here’s what you can expect to enjoy with us.A rewarding experience that works for you We strive to create an inclusive experience with benefits and wellbeing programmes designed to help you, and your loved ones, to thrive.
