Job description

Kitchen Assistant (Bank)

We currently have an opportunity for an energetic individual to join our Catering Team in our residential care home for older people as a Kitchen Assistant.

Bridgemead is a 32-bed residential care home by the river in central Bath. The health, well-being and happiness of our residents is of primary importance to us. The home cares for those who live with dementia and respite care in Bath. View our lovely home  .

Responsibilities :

Kitchen Assistant

  • Wash up the catering equipment and utensils;
  • Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment;
  • Ensure all water and other spillages are cleaned up immediately after they occur;
  • Maintain records as required by your manager;
  • Serving the evening tea time meal (usually sandwiches or something very simple)
  • Clearing tables
  • Stacking dishwasher

We offer a full induction to the work and also provide other training as required by the post but it will be working alone

About you :

  • You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;
  • You need to be able to operate laundry equipment in a safe and reliable manner
  • You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents; and
  • You must be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

    Hours :

    Bank shifts available to cover absence and holidays.
