Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer for a busy electrical manufacturer in Macclesfield.

The ideal candidate would be someone with a Degree in Electrical Design Engineering and good experience using AutoCAD to produce drawings and calculations, feasibility reports, and design specifications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and control panels, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout designs.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to ensure system integration and compatibility.
  • Verify electrical designs meet performance and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise existing electrical and control systems for better performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and field teams as needed.
  • Continuously improve electrical and control system designs to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Lead root cause analysis for electrical and control system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the development of electrical design standards and best practices for the engineering department.

Work closely with the design team and senior engineers.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing electrical systems and control panels in industrial or heavy equipment manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in PLC control systems programming.
  • AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design software.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards and safety codes.
  • Effective problem-solving and project management skills.
