Are you a recent University graduate? Are you interested in supporting children with autism and other neurological conditions? Are you passionate about helping others, with a patient and encouraging approach?

A Specialist School near Wheatley is seeking a dedicated Graduate to join their team as an SEN Support Assistant. The school caters for children aged 4-16 with complex needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges, and associated learning needs.

As an SEN Support Assistant, you will assist a class of 5 to 10 pupils, working closely with the school's teaching team, therapists, and support staff. Together, you will deliver individualised learning plans and interventions that promote each student's learning, independence, communication, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide support and encouragement to help students reach their potential.
  • Foster a calm, structured, and positive environment to reduce anxiety and build each pupil's confidence.
  • Learn to roll out specialist interventions to support communication, social interaction, and sensory needs.
  • Assist with challenging behaviours, pastoral support, and personal care.

By engaging with autism-specific and specialist communication methods, you will build a strong foundation for a career in Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Counselling, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.

Position : SEN Support Assistant

Start Date : ASAP

Salary : £80 to £95 per day

Location : Wheatley

Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm
