Working in the South West’s leading private client tax department means you’ll work with a variety of clients, amongst sector experts, doing interesting work. You’ll combine your compliance and advisory skills to deliver a first-class service, enhancing the lives of clients and become a trusted advisor.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • You’ll be part of our specialist Private Client International team and provide personal UK tax advice and planning on international issues including : Residence advice for leavers and arriversTransfer of assets abroad legislationUK resident beneficiaries receiving distributions from offshore trustsRelevant income and capital gains pools for offshore trusteesAdvice on regulating clients’ offshore tax affairs with HMRC under the worldwide disclosure facilityNon-doms (and the proposed changes)Remittance basis (and the proposed changes)Double tax treaties including treaty residenceNon-resident CGT reporting for disposals of UK property or land / indirect interests
  • You will also have opportunities to give IHT and CGT planning advice for HNW clients
  • Take calls with potential new clients to discuss their needs and our services
  • Review self-assessment tax returns, CGT 60-day reporting and IHT returns
  • Liaise with other PKF firms throughout the world to meet client requirements
  • Maintain direct contact with clients, HMRC, solicitors, other accountancy, law and professional services firms

About you

  • Established experience in international private client work
  • Be experienced in report writing and advising on complex private client matters
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to review and interpret tax legislation and case law
  • Significant broad private client experience, ideally with a tax qualification
  • Understanding of compliance standards imposed by the various regulatory authorities for tax
  • Ability to manage WIP and debtors
  • Experience of managing a team, developing their technical knowledge / career progression / commercial awareness
