Crays Hill Primary School has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join the team as soon as possible, to provide one to one support for a child (Year - Reception) with complex additional needs.

Contract : This is a fixed term contract linked to the child you are working with.

The position is for 32.5 hours per week working 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm Monday to Friday (includes a 30 min break). Term time only for 39 weeks per year (including Inset days).

Salary : Scale 3 to 4 (Range 5-8) Actual Salary £19,199 to £19,797 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are seeking to appoint a 1 : 1 SEND Learning Support Assistant to work as part of the teaching and learning team to ensure the pupil is fully integrated into school life, supporting their individual needs; social, emotional, communication, academic and physical. The role will require working on 1 : 1 on targets and provision as well as providing intimate care.

The successful candidate will :

  • hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 LSA Qualification (candidates will not be shortlisted if they do not hold this qualification)
  • have experience of supporting children with social and emotional developmental needs
  • have a high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication / interaction skills
  • have energy, enthusiasm and a flexible approach with the ability to look upon demands as an opportunity to be positive and inspirational
  • believe in inclusion, diversity and access and the right of each pupil to maximise their potential whatever their needs and abilities
  • work well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
