About The Company :

A well-established contracting business providing services within the construction, agriculture and horticulture industries.

The Job Role Details :

As Estimator, you will report into the Commercial Director, and you will be tasked with estimating and tendering various projects, such as the construction of natural turf sports facilities, sports turf renovations, earthworks, land drainage, equestrian work, civil construction, and landscaping. Project values typically range from £25,000 to £2,500,000.

You will understand customer needs and provide accurate, commercially viable estimates by obtaining competitive quotes from suppliers for materials, labour, equipment, and other necessary resources, all while adhering to company policies.

Key Responsibilities :

You will…

• Prepare and lead the compilation of tenders / bids / programmes, prioritising deadlines, and company objectives.
• Request plans and specifications from clients.
• Review plans and perform material take-offs.
• Request pricing from suppliers and acquire quotes from vendors.
• Attend site meetings.
• Develop client and consultant relations and ensure client satisfaction.
• Provide input to the handover process from estimating to contract.
• Ensure economical and efficient use of company resources throughout all activities.
• Provide data as requested to review the performance of the supply chain member.
• Business development with architects, suppliers, and clients.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications :

You will have / be…

• Estimator experience in a similar role.
• Experience working within the Agricultural, Horticultural, Construction or Groundworks sectors.
• Skills in costing and pricing for bespoke projects.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Driving licence.
