About the Role
Lewisham Council is seeking a skilled Financial Transaction Officer to support a temporary peak in workload within the Financial Services team. You will be responsible for delivering efficient, customer-focused financial transaction services including high-volume payment and income processing.
Key Responsibilities
Process invoice and payment request transactions in a timely and accurate manner
Make and receive payments to / from a wide range of stakeholders
Maintain accurate records and carry out regular reconciliations
Work with systems such as Oracle Financials / Payables and ContrOCC (Liquid Logic) (experience desirable but not essential)
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure compliance
Uphold financial regulations, audit standards, and confidentiality of sensitive data
What We're Looking For
Experience in financial processing in a large organisation, ideally local government
Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new financial systems quickly
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
Knowledge of relevant legislation and financial standards
Effective communication skills and commitment to customer service
