Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manger for the operational aspects of the manufacturing NPI support activities to the wider Renishaw Group. Responsibility for managing the Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) functional groups to generate Manufacturing Strategies and Gate Reviews as part of the New Product Development PIP process. Acting as the local Manufacturing point of contact for seconded resource along with ensuring resource pools match and align with Product Division requirements.

Job Description

This role will be responsible for Project Management of the operational aspects of Manufacturing NPI support activities and will take a lead in ensuring a prompt and efficient service is provided to the divisional product development groups.

Co-ordinate and facilitate the Manufacturing NPI teams new product development input working within the Product Innovation Process

Co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary activities of various Manufacturing based individuals and teams in order to provide a prompt and efficient service to the divisional new product development teams

Create and maintain Manufacturing activity plans and documentation, ensuring process adherence and good working practices

Responsibility for the creation of product manufacturing strategies and ensuring they reflect the wider Manufacturing strategy, highlighting risk areas and determining and proposing mitigations

Responsibility for Gate Review responses, managing the input from the functional areas and making recommendations on preparedness to Project Teams

Regularly report on Manufacturing project input status, risks and mitigations as agreed with the stakeholders, communicating through the written word, conversations and presentations

Manage seconded resource requirement reviews and identify actions and mitigations working with divisional and Manufacturing teams.

You will enjoy learning, and developing your own abilities and those of the project teams. You will be proactive, a completer finisher, highly organised and also flexible in your approach to meet the needs of the day to day project environment, being driven to meet deadlines and achieve targets. A strong communicator in the technical and business domains, you will be able to prioritise work effectively when under pressure from many sources.

Key requirements

Project management experience

Degree qualified (2 : 1 or above) in a STEM subject

Good communication and social skills

Accomplished IT skill set

Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual

Genuine interest for a career working in a world leading engineering company working on high-tech, high complexity products and processes

Desirable requirements

Knowledge of Design for Manufacture / Assembly principles

Experience within manufacturing operations and processes

Experience in a New Product Introduction environment
