Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of History with a desire to inspire young minds and foster a love of learning? We are seeking a talented individual to join our dedicated and supportive department in a sixth form college in Hillingdon.

About the History Department :

The History department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a passion for bringing history to life. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of historical periods and themes, from ancient civilizations to modern world history. We believe in making history relevant and accessible to all students, using a variety of teaching methods and resources, including interactive activities, debates, and historical simulations.

About the Role :

  • Teach History at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of historical events and their significance.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students in conducting independent research, developing their analytical skills, and preparing for their A Level History examinations.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our History curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in History education.

Ideal Candidate :

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in History.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching History and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the A Level History specifications and assessment requirements.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
