3rd Line Engineer

Location : Basingstoke Onsite (5 Days a Week)

Shift Patterns : 7 AM 3 PM, 9 AM 5 PM, 11 AM 7 PM (Rotating every 9 weeks)

Clearance Requirement : Active DV Clearance

The Opportunity :

Are you an experienced 3rd Line Engineer with a passion for maintaining high-performance IT environments? Were looking for a skilled Environment Engineer to join a dynamic, multi-skilled agile team in Basingstoke.

The Role :

As a 3 rd Line Engineer, youll play a vital part in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of their IT infrastructure. Youll be responsible for systems administration, proactive monitoring, and performance optimisation, working closely with security, service, and management teams. Beyond maintenance, youll contribute to designing and executing key processes that enhance system reliability and resilience.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer and maintain Windows Server environments

Manage Active Directory Directory Services and Certificate Services

Support and optimise VMware ESXi / VirtualCentre 7.x infrastructure

Maintain and enhance VMware Horizon virtual desktop environments

Implement and manage system changes with minimal disruption

Monitor and analyse system performance, proactively addressing potential issues

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve IT environments

Skills & Experience Required :

Strong Windows Server administration experience

Expertise in Active Directory (AD) and Certificate Services

In-depth knowledge of VMware ESXi / VirtualCentre 7.x

Hands-on experience with VMware Horizon

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a high-security environment

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system optimisation

The Benefits : Salary - £45,000
