Job Opportunity : IT Support Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic IT Support Technician to join their IT Department. The successful candidate will provide essential first and second-line support to all users, ensuring the smooth operation of critical business systems across multiple sites. This role involves supporting Windows server-based applications and offering both onsite and remote IT support.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical support to all staff, face-to-face, over the phone, or via email to assist in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktop, laptop, and mobile systems.
  • Administer the helpdesk : record, update, and document incidents and requests.
  • Manage helpdesk work queues and report to management on helpdesk performance.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance to the IT manager in the completion of IT-related projects or schemes of work.
  • Share and contribute to creating and updating a support knowledge base.
  • Understanding and commitment to the importance of implementing cyber-security controls and processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the business.
  • Perform other duties as required by the business.

Job Requirements :

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • A degree in an IT discipline.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server technology, VMWare Technology, Active Directory, and Entra identity management is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC / laptop hardware.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
