About The Role :
We are currently seeking a Graduate Health & Safety Advisor or s omeone with some prior experience in a health and safety role with a keen interest in pursuing a career in health and safety to assist our existing team members in implementing and monitoring safety protocols, contributing to creating safe environments for our client base across UK & Ireland, delivering advice and guidance on all things Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality. You will assist with the coordination, successful development and implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality management systems, as well as conducting regular site visits across UK and Ireland. The role will focus on helping you to grow your personal and leadership skills, alongside the technical skills you will learn day-to-day on the job. Operating from our head office in Hillsborough, County Down, this role will require travel to client’s offices & sites throughout Ireland and UK.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate in the development and update of health and safety policies and risk management procedures
- Assist in conducting regular site audits and safety inspections for our clients to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Support investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents, compiling findings and recommending corrective actions
- Help maintain health and safety documentation, including training records, incident logs, and safety data sheets
- Assist in organising safety training sessions for clients
- Monitor and evaluate safety performance metrics, ensuring that operations adhere to safety regulations
- Contribute to identifying potential workplace hazards, assisting in the development of strategies to minimise risks
- Stay informed on the latest health and safety legislation to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant laws and best practices
- Ensure our clients' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date and ready for internal or external audits
- Visiting clients and providing an in-person service, to support and advise where necessary
- Submit any relevant reports or other such associated documents in accordance with client demand and business needs
- Assist with acting as the clients personal H&S lead to support and streamline any processes or queries
- Manage time effectively to provide an effective and efficient service to clients
- Attend company meetings, courses etc. when required to update and maintain professional skills / knowledge
- Engaging with our clients to drive practical positive safety management
About You :
Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that you will require;
Bachelor’s (min 2.1 or equivalent) in a health & safety, construction or design discipline / NEBOSH Diploma or working towards (desirable)NEBOSH Construction CertA minimum of at least 1 year demonstrable previous Health and Safety management experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent communication and relationship building personalityConfident in providing practical solutions to clients in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality related issuesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible and adaptable, able to respond to ongoing changesGood organisational and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail to spot various hazards and complete investigationsProcess-driven and the ability to use your initiativeAbility to travel throughout UK and IrelandAbility to prioritise workload and managing multiple tasks / projects at one timeConfident in a client facing environmentKnowledge and experience with management systems including ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 etc. (desirable)Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations for NI, UK and Irish jurisdictionsFull driving license is requiredPackage
