They also collect 1000s of tonnes of material for recycling and recovery each year from their broad range of clients; including leading retail, manufacturing, warehouse and distribution businesses together with local authorities, hospitals, shopping centres, garden centres and recyclers. Established in the year 2000, they are ISO9001, ISO14001, CHAS, Safe Contractor and Altius accredited.They are looking for a workshop technician to join their repair and refurbishment team at their workshop located between Tonbridge and Maidstone. The role will be to be a critical part of the team that as well as carrying repairs bring preused compactors and balers back to a high standard for return to their clients locations or for resale.Role.The Workshop Technician role is to carry out repairs and refurbishment of new and stock machines in the workshop and repair of all types of recycling equipment supplied by the company and third parties when required, when required hydraulic and electrical repairs will be carried out by the Technical Service Manager or one of the mobile engineers however, ideally the right candidate will have knowledge of these two areas.ResponsibilitiesReporting direct to the Technical Service Manager.Making sure that equipment is repaired or refurbished as instructed by the TSM to an acceptable standard required by the TSM.All workshop equipment is kept well maintained and any defects reported in writing to the TSM.General Workshop Duties.Keep workshop and surrounding area clean, tidy and free of any hazards.Keep an accurate log of parts and all works carried out on machines entering the workshop and submit to the TSM as instructed.Loading / unloading delivery and company vehicles with Forklift Truck in a safe manner completing the H&S check list book before each use.Carry out work to an acceptable standard required by the company and H&S regulations.Keep a log of workshop tools and equipment, reporting any defects / losses to the TSM.Submit stock parts orders in writing to the TSM on a weekly basis.Keep an inventory of workshop consumables. Submit orders when required in writing to the TSM.Refurbish any equipment as requested by the TSM.Complete weekly check sheets on all equipment contained within the workshop.When a new / old machine arrives in the workshop it is to be fully inspected and tested.Occasionally there may be the need to work off site with one of the mobile engineers.Preferred SkillsAbility to work on their own and as part of a team.Experience of electrical wiring diagrams.Experience of hydraulic systems.Experience of welding and fabrication.Experience of mechanical systems.Strong work ethicWhilst the above are preferred skills we do offer full accredited training to the right candidate on a payback scheme if they were to leave with in a certain period.Additional Information.Full uniform, including PPE, Supplied20 days Holiday + 8 bank holidays.Pension.6 Months probationary period.Hours of work 08.00-17.00 with half hour unpaid lunch.
