Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Day Shift : Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
Location : Smethwick, West Midlands - Commutable from Dudley, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Halesowen, Shirley, Redditch, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas
Salary : Circa £45,000 - £48,000 Per Annum Negotiable - plus benefits
This large industrial manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join their skilled Maintenance team on permanent days, covering the core hours of 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The company successfully manufactures and exports a wide range of products to customers across the globe with the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor playing a very hands-on roles as part of their skilled Mechanical Maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor will require strong Fitter skills, enjoy remaining hands-on whilst providing guidance and mentoring to a team of 10-12 skilled Mechanical Fitters. Supervision includes allocating jobs and sharing your knowledge & skills with the team when necessary.
The Maintenance Supervisor will undertake both PPM and be responding to production breakdowns too, working with the wider team to deliver projects too. Good communication skills are expected together with the ability to work with other departments across the company to ensure daily goals are understood and met.
Interested Candidates need to be mechanically qualified, ideally through a mechanical related apprenticeship or a related RQF Level 3 qualification.
Preferred Skills / Experience :
Have Supervisor experience within industrial manufacturing environments.
Have strong experience across Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance.
Solid experience working across a wide range of production equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, pumps, mechanical seals, pipework, motors, belts etc.
Experience of Mechanical plant installation and modification work.
Knowledge of Boiler operations, waste solvent incineration or emissions abatement plant is beneficial.
Statutory inspections - pressure testing, plant integrity and commissioning work.
Ability to use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
Able to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals or other technical information to assist with works.
Must be able to work in accordance with the company’s safe systems of work and permit to work systems
Preferred Training / Qualifications :
Ideally have completed a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship or as a minimum, are educated to RQF level 3 (ie. City & Guilds or NVQ level 3) in a practical Mechanical Fitting / Engineering discipline.
Any training or certification of using / operating MEWP’s, Abrasive wheels or Confined Spaces is highly beneficial but isn’t essential.
