Laboratory Operations Technician

Location : Cambridge (CB10)Duration : at least 3 months but likely longer with potential to become permanentHours : 9am - 5 : 30pm (Monday to Friday)Salary : £13.33 per hour / £26,000 FTEJob Reference : 35687Polytec are looking for a Laboratory Operations Technician for our client based in South Cambridgeshire to ensure the smooth running of their laboratories and facilities. This is a role covering a period of sick leave initially but could become permanent.Responsibilities :

• Supply of microbiological media and reagents, ensuring clean glassware and lab waste disposal
• Supply of compressed gas and liquid nitrogen, including changing gas cylinders and re-filling cryo storage vessels
• Stock ordering, receipt and distribution
• Basic laboratory and facilities checks
• Ensure Health and Safety Regulations complianceRequirements :
• Background in biological sciences or relevant scientific laboratory experience
• Operational support in a biological sciences laboratory
• Preparation of sterile laboratory supplies, including microbiological media
• Stock management
