Midland Structures Ltd are looking to recruit up to four experienced MIG welders to join our growing team with a choice of DAY or AFTERNOON shifts available : DAYS : Mon - Friday, 07 : 00 - 15 : 00AFTERS : Mon - Thurs, 14 : 00 - 22 : 30 & Fri, 13 : 00 - 19 : 00Commutable to Brierley Hill, you will have hands-on experience working with structural steelwork and will be able to confidently interpret detailed drawings and complete a variety of welds to specification. • Interpret Tekla drawings in order to weld steel assemblies.
• Use MIG welding equipment to produce a variety of welds (including single & multi-run fillet & butt welds).
• Work to critical dimensions and tolerances, often with minimal supervision.
• Work quickly but accurately to meet crucial deadlines.
• Work safely and ensure all work meets our quality standards.
• Maintain condition of tools and equipment.
• Maintain a tidy and safe workplace in line with company polices.
• Use of plasma / oxy cutting equipment.
• Operation of overhead cranes.
• Manual handling / manoeuvring of steel.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /
• Coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1 : 2017 (to meet BS EN ISO 1090 EXC 2 & 3) (preferred)
• Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy (essential).
• Experienced in working to strict quality standards (essential).
• Able to work under pressure & meet tight deadlines (essential).
• Experienced in welding structural or heavy steel (preferred)
• Have a flexible approach to working additional hours / overtime (dictated by workload).
