Job description

Job Title : Production Supervisor

Location : Redditch

Salary : Up to £50,000 per annum

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM

Reporting to : Managing Director (MD)

Day-to-Day Duties :

  • Throughput Management : Analyze production data, develop daily plans, hold team meetings, and ensure start-up and shut-down procedures are followed. Maintain WIP to ensure continuous throughput and monitor production output to meet targets.
  • HSE Compliance : Adhere to site safety rules, monitor PPE usage, report accidents / near misses, and ensure participation in HSE training.
  • Productivity & People Management : Monitor hourly output, manage maintenance, ensure housekeeping is completed, supervise team scheduling, and prepare monthly reports on KPIs. Mentor team members, manage absenteeism, and address performance issues.
  • Quality Control : Ensure production meets BIQ standards, conduct root-cause analysis, manage non-conformances, and perform housekeeping audits.
  • Consumables Management : Ensure availability of materials, approve requisitions, and follow up on orders.
  • Project Participation : Take part in projects, report progress, and communicate milestones.
  • Behavioral Outputs : Build relationships, communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and take initiative to solve problems.

Requirements for this Position :

  • Experience : Proven experience in production supervision or management, preferably in manufacturing or metalworking.
  • Leadership : Strong team leadership and motivational skills.
  • HSE Knowledge : Understanding of HSE regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Problem-Solving : Excellent skills in addressing issues quickly and implementing corrective actions.
  • Quality Control : Familiarity with quality control methods and standards.
  • Technical Skills : Knowledge of manufacturing systems, Lean principles, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Communication & Organizational Skills : Strong verbal and written communication, effective meeting facilitation, and time management.
