Job Role : Floating Support Worker

Salary : 20188 per year (FTE 25235

Hours : 30 hours

Contract type : FixedTermContract till 31

March 2026

Location : Mendip covering Somerset

The Role : The Floating Support Worker will be responsible for providing practical and emotional support and advice to vulnerable and complex adults who are already accommodated and / or homeless or in unsuitable / insecure housing. You will develop and maintain a high level of facetoface contact with clients to maximise engagement and reduce barriers to obtaining or sustaining accommodation. There will be an anticipated maximum caseload of ten clients although subject to slight change based on assessed complexity of cases.

Responsibilities include :

  • Conducting needs assessments of atrisk and vulnerable people to establish an effective plan to support vulnerable people to obtain or sustain accommodation.
  • Maintaining regular contact with atrisk and vulnerable clients for as long as needed implementing the support plan and undertaking appropriate support actions.
  • Supporting vulnerable and complex tenants to access support care health and community services.
  • Provide quarterly case studies and reports on outcomes.

Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Previous work with vulnerable and complex clients in a similar or related field / environment or lived experience
  • Dealt with people across a broad range of housing and / or other workrelated situations handling potentially stressful situations and supporting clients in a traumainformed way
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of Julian House clients.
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle
