SEN Teaching Assistant

Location : Lincoln, Lincolnshire Start Date : Easterr 2025  Full-time  Salary : £88.94 - £104.84 per day  GSL Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team in Lincoln. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for working with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), whether you are looking to develop your career in education or continue your journey supporting young people with additional learning needs.Key Responsibilities : Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning disabilities, and other needsAssist the class teacher in adapting and delivering the curriculum in a way that supports students’ individual learning stylesFoster a positive, inclusive learning environment by promoting independence and encouraging participationSupport students’ social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence and manage behaviourWork closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalised learning plans and ensure students are achieving their full potentialEssential Skills & Experience : Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school, care, or support environmentPatience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to helping students overcome challengesStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parentsA team player who can collaborate effectively with staff across the schoolA DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)Desirable : A qualification in SEND or relevant experience (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, Youth Work, Psychology, etc.)Experience in behaviour management strategiesExperience working with a variety of SEND, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHDThis is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND.
