Design Technology Teacher

Location : York, North Yorkshire

Contract : Full-Time

Start Date : Easter 2025

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive school community on a full-time basis from Easter until at least the end of the academic year. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Textiles, Food Technology, and Design Technology , fostering creativity, practical skills, and a love for hands-on learning.

About the Role as a Design Technology Teacher :

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Textiles, Food Technology, and Design Technology .
  • Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities .
  • Prepare students for GCSE coursework and assessments , ensuring they meet curriculum requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and share best practices .
  • Provide a positive, inclusive learning environment , catering to students of all abilities.
  • As the ideal Design Technology Teacher, you should :

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Specialise in Textiles, Food Technology, or Design Technology , with experience teaching across multiple disciplines preferred.
  • Have experience delivering engaging and inspiring lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Be committed to supporting students in their academic and personal development.
  • Have strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in hands-on learning.
  • Be resilient, adaptable, and a team player , ready to contribute to a thriving department.
