TheRole

HarwichInternational Port (HWH) is one of the UK’s leadingmulti-purpose freight and passenger ports. We are looking toappoint Port Operators to support thedelivery of Port Operations, including the undertaking ofstevedoring duties in freight handling, general cargo handling,cruise and all supportareas.

This rolereports to the Berth Supervisors and is working a fixed shiftpattern of 39 hours perweek.

KeyRequirements

• Mooring and un-mooring of all vessels.
• Moving,discharging and loading all trade vehicles to ships andtrains.
• Carrying out baggage handling duties,including use of carousel and conveyers.
• Operating forklifts, internal movement vehicles, high capacitycranes and other plant as required.
• Communicatewith quay areas using UHF radios.
• Lashing andsecuring cargos.
• Carry out all housekeepingduties to maintain a clean and efficient workplace as directed byBerth Supervisors.
• Carry out tasks in line withcompany policy and Health & Safetyrequirements.

Therole will involve working on a 39 hour / 7 day shift pattern, toinclude night shifts andweekends.
