An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Prosecutions Lawyer to join a Midlands based Local Authority on a locum basis.
Day to day responsibilities for this role may include;
All aspects of licensing including taxis, premises, events and street trading. This includes related advice and attendance at licensing committee, which is held in person, appeals and prosecutions.
Trading standards prosecutions and related advice.
Education prosecutions.
Food safety prosecutions and HEPOs.
It would be desirable, although not essential, if the lawyer had experience of prosecutions relating to planning, environmental crime and Health & Safety.
There will be a need for the locum to attend licensing committee hearings on average twice a month and to attend court hearings 4-5 times a month.
Our client would prefer a candidate who would be able to attend licensing committees & Court in person, on a full time basis, but part time applicants are encouraged to apply.
