Job summary
We are looking for anenthusiastic band 7 Occupational Therapist with paediatric experience to comeand join our team of paediatric Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapistshere in Rotherham. This role is a part-time role ( per week). You will bejoining a community based team working with Children aged 0-19 years with arange of neurological, genetic and developmental conditions. We work inpartnership with families, and carers in a variety of settings, includingpreschool and schools both special and mainstream, Patients homes, clinics, andthe child development centre. You will work closely with the widermultidisciplinary team. We are a friendly, supportive team committed toproviding high quality care. Your professional development will be supported bythe Band 8a Clinical Lead for the Service and other Band 7's who you will workclosely with. You will be part of an in-service training programme and you willhave opportunity to access external training.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be to workwithin our Special Schools team, assessing and treating children aged 5-19. You will hold your own caseload of children and beexpected to manage this autonomously. You will be expected to delegate effectively toall junior staff and coordinate the day-today running of the service includingreallocating staff when needed. You will assess for and issue postural equipmentas clinically indicated this may include postural seating, toileting / bathingsupport and manual handling equipment slings, transfer aids etc... You will be involved in the use of nationaloutcome measures CPUPS and expected to take the lead in this outcomemeasure when it is a patient on your caseload being assessed. You will be leading on quality improvement andservice development projects including supporting the Clinical Lead insubmitting business cases if required. You will be expected to support withon-going audits that the service requires to submit for KPI data.
