Role : Support Worker

Salary : £13 per hour

Location : SS3, Southend-on-Sea

Job Type : Full Time / Part Time

Shifts on offer

  • Monday to Sunday, 9am - 5pm
  • Shifts Times are set times, but Monday to Sunday flexibility on offer depending on availability .

About the Role

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Support Worker within the Southend-on-Sea area who can support a Male service user in his early 30s who has Autism. Our Support Worker roles are considered more of a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within his own and especially within the community.

Activities will include going swimming twice a week at his local leisure Centre, attending art clubs, walks along the beach front, and exploring new areas outside the Southend-on-Sea area. Most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service users' best interests, by going above and beyond.

He has limited verbal communication and would only need prompts for personal care. You will then need to communicate with him effectively and appropriately, whilst also giving him the opportunity to communicate his needs as well.

  • Requirements for the Role

    Here at Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, we are looking for an outgoing bubbly candidate, who can show their best assets on providing the highest quality of support.

  • A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
  • Autism and Learning Disabilities experience preferred but not a mandatory need.
  • To provide the correct compliance documents including updated Right to Work and original DBS certificate.
