and main responsibilities
- To provide refreshments to patients and relatives attending the day unit for anti-cancer treatment.
- To receive, welcome and guide visitors coming onto unit, liaising with other staff as appropriate.
- To act as a ward contact point for the catering department.
- Check all food items held in kitchen to ensure good practice with stock rotation. Dispose of any items that have exceeded their designated use by date.
- To collect medications and chemotherapy from pharmacy.
- Delivery of samples and items within the hospital.
- To ensure the ward is clean and safe for patients and staff.
- Be responsible for ensuring the ward is fully stocked, including the nursing trolleys. That equipment is in date, stored correctly and store areas tidy.
- Completing fridge temperature audits and escalating concerns to ward lead.
- To be responsible for keeping linen stocked in both cupboard and trolley.
