Job description

The Recruitment Co are urgently recruiting a P&ID Draftsperson to join our clients state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Llantrisant.

Contract : Permanent

Salary : Up to £45,000 per annum

Hours : Monday to Friday Days

Overview : Working within the Engineering team and contribute to support efficient day-to-day operation of the Engineering office with drafting, P&ID surveys and population of engineering databases.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • Become a key part of the site's Engineering support team
  • Draft and consolidate Existing P&ID's (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to ensure they are per "As built "plant.
  • Draft P&IDs for existing system which currently do not have P&IDs under the direction of the site Process Engineer(s)
  • Draft Trip / Interlock "Cause and Effect charts" for onsite operational processes. This would be drafting of excel format spreadsheets under the direction of the Process and Process Automation Engineer(s)
  • Population of an Engineering database to compile line list data from third party EPC data. Work carried out under the direction of a site Process Engineer.
  • Population of an Engineering database to compile lists for Bellows, Flexible hoses, Design items. Work carried out under the direction of a site Process and Mechanical Engineer(s)

Specific Requirements :

  • Experience in AutoCAD and ability to draft new P&ID's and update existing P&ID's to "as built status" under the direction of Process and Discipline Engineers
  • IT literate with a good level of experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Willingness to work with Engineering technician on development of an Engineering Database system
  • High level of competency with MS Office with Experience in Excel and databases for e.g. line list and piping items data entry
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks as directed to meet delivery schedule
  • Site based and willingness to work in a hands-on environment
  • Work as a self-starter as part of a growing team
  • Numerate, technically minded and analytical, with a love of problem solving and the ability to balance creativity with logic.
