Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader the role will entail the assembly and commissioning of machines machine modules and subassemblies using engineering drawings and 3d models the successful applicant ideally apprentice trained must have a keen eye for detail and an understanding of engineering processes
Working within a small manufacturing team the applicant must be flexible self motivated and able to work well in a team and individually
Key Responsibilities
Within area of operation the Mechanical Technician will;
- Follow all department procedures
- Assemble parts to the required specification including :
machine build
modular assembliessubassembliesComplete all quality documentation required for the tasksIdentify problems with assemblies / parts and raise any quality issues following the company proceduresOperate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do soSupport the sustainment and improvement of housekeeping and health and safety practicesSupport in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standardsAssist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan to include on time delivery and build efficiencyActively drive continuous improvementAny other reasonable request by the line management teamTargets and measures

Apprentice trainedAbility to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of MaterialsAbility to understand mechanical design assemblyPrevious assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environmentExperience of assembling large fabricated parts to engineering drawingsability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal machined and electrical componentsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood numeracyComputer literateHold a counterbalance forklift license (desirable)Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (desirable)Additional Information :
