Job descriptionPrior experience in a materials handling or similar industrial role. Great knowledge of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment. Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Experience with lifting equipment / Slinger Banksman / Sideloader or Shunter is an advantage. A positive, proactive attitude and a strong work ethic. Experience with operating overhead cranes. Competitive hourly rate of £13.00 per hour, with the opportunity to gain increases fast. I am recruiting an experienced Materials Handler to join my industry-leading client at a structural steel manufacturing company based in Leeds. Your Responsibilities as a Materials Handler :
- Safely offloading, sorting, and storing all materials according to production schedules.
- Using appropriate lifting and slinging techniques to ensure safe handling of materials.
- Transporting materials across the site while strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Ensuring steels are available for production in the correct order.
- Physically demanding work; you must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
