Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader

27 to 30 hours per week - permanent

Salary - £16.03-£18.43 per hour

Sidney Gale House, Bridport

We have a rewarding opportunity to join our fabulous team at Sidney Gale House in Bridport.

Pay rate £16.03 - £18.43 per hour. Enhanced rate payable for weekend working.

You will work a weekly average of 27-30 hours across a 4-week rota. The shift pattern would look like this :

Week 1 : Tues 2-10 Fri 8-2 Sat & Sun 7-3

Week 2 : Weds & Thurs 7-3 Fri 8-2

Week 3 : Thurs 8-4 Fri / Sat / Sun 2-10

Week 4 : Tues & Wed 7-3 Thurs 2-10

You will work within Care Dorset’s Community Care Strategy to provide a wide range of support and opportunities to maintain and promote the independence and quality of life for service users.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Manager and other senior staff as appropriate, in the provision and development of care services for the relevant service user group.
  • Assist in the supervision of staff, buildings and budgets, in accordance with directorate policies and procedures.
  • Undertake effective and efficient assessment of service users including risk assessment, the development of care / support plans and ensuring that these are implemented and monitored.
  • Approval of care plans.
  • Undertake formal supervision, including Performance Development reviews, of staff / team members.
  • Development of individual and group programmes to meet specific objectives as appropriate.
  • Ensure the safe dispensing of medication.

The Successful Candidate Should Have :

  • Appropriate qualification – NVQ level 3 or above.
  • Significant knowledge and application of relevant legislation ., Care Standards Act 2000, Community Care Act 1991.
  • Significant knowledge of risk assessment process.
  • Significant knowledge of care planning process obtained in a similar or related setting.
  • Ability to lead and manage team members.
  • Ability to plan, organise and monitor own work.
  • Current meds training and experience.
