The Afon Elai Partnership is a newly formed General Practice caring for 16,000 residents of South-West Cardiff. We are a merger of two longstanding and successful practices, Westway Surgery and Meddygfa Lansdowne Surgery, with seven Partners working from two sites easily accessible for the M4. We have an ethos of aiming to provide high-quality patient-centred care, underpinned by a commitment to fairness and a focus on prioritising wellbeing over profit. We now have an exciting opportunity for a GP looking for partnership to join our team and help shape the future of a new strong and sustainable practice.

Our balanced clinical team consists of GP Partners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, Physician Associates, Practice Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, and Health Care Assistants alongside an excellent team of Patient Care Administrators providing care navigation and administrative support.

As a training practice, we host registrars, medical students, general practice nurse trainees, foundation pharmacists, and physician associate students and are committed to continuing professional development. We deliver a full range of enhanced services facilitating the development of special interests and engage in non-commercial research.

We are a proactive member of Cardiff South-West Cluster, with one of our GP partners taking the role of Cluster Lead Community Director, another as Locality Director, and our Business Manager currently the GMS Collaborative Lead. We work with local partners to explore how best to work in a cooperative way to maximise our patients’ wellbeing. In addition, our Cluster has established weekly multi-agency multidisciplinary team meetings and an active Hub delivering welfare checks and health monitoring.
