St Margaret's Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit in Taunton. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of£32, per annum for hours per week, plus 18% unsocial hours enhancement.

We are currently in the process of consultation to implement 30 / 60 unsocial hours payment in line with agenda for change rather than a flat rate percentage added to your base salary . Additionally, our definition of unsocial hours will sit between that of 20 : 00 6 : 00am.
Main duties of the job
Based within our patient focused IPU team, you will play a key role by delivering nursing care that is patient-centred and holistic. This is a role where you will really be given the time and space to get to know the people you support.
Our service operates 24 / 7 and shift patterns include weekends and bank holidays and rotation onto night duty. We offer flexibility in shift patterns plus the opportunity to gain experience in other areas of hospice care, including community.
From day 1,you will be fully supported in post with a robust and in-depth Induction, peer support and shared learning, and our new Clinical Skills Program. We have a fantastic education team and all our CPD is delivered onsite at the a wide range of courses,learning opportunities, and personalised development pathways , we'll support you to grow and succeed in your role,helping you to achieve your career aspirations.
Previous hospice or palliative care experience is not required as full training and support will be provided.

Job responsibilities
Provide nursingcare that is at all times patient-centred, holistic and quality driven,ensuring optimum quality of life for all patients in the inpatient unit.Provideappropriate support and advice for families and carers working effectivelyalongside the multidisciplinary team across all clinical settings.Within your areaassist in the coordination of the nursing team regarding all aspects ofclinical and operational activity.Assist inmanaging, operating and supporting a 24 / 7 response by providing appropriateclinical and non-clinical advice and support within the boundaries of theservice, for patients with cancer and non-cancer palliative care needs.Educatecolleagues and influence practice by talking to other health care professionalsand participating in education programmes and research.Providing leadership and supervision to the wider nursing team,organising evidence based, patient centred care.
