We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior quantity surveyor to join our commercial team located at our Glengarnock headquarters. As a senior quantity surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our steelwork construction projects. Your expertise in cost estimation, contract administration, and general project management will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of our projects on time and within budget. Key Objectives
To provide Quantity Surveying services with minimal direction from the head of departmentManage all assigned contracts ensuring they are delivered in full, to cost and to programme.To perform all duties in accordance with the companies Health and Safety Policy and Quality Assurance proceduresTo act in the best interests of the company and protect the business from unnecessary commercial, reputational, and ethical risksLiaise across all company departments to effectively communicate project requirementsRepresent the company in a safe, ethical, and professional manner at all timesHelp to ensure all department objectives are metMaintain comprehensive and accurate project recordsTo contribute to the full extent of their capabilities to achieve the most effective operational standards and practiceMaintain high standards of attendance, punctuality, and personal appearanceMain Responsibilities
Preparing interim applications for paymentContract administration and cost controlFinal account preparationIssuing early warning notices for changes affecting cost / timeReading and interpreting complex structural and architectural drawingsPricing variationsPricing daywork sheetsProcurement adviceContract and dispute adviceWorking with all company departments involved in delivering projects to time and budgetAttend meetings and undertake site visits where requiredEngaging subcontractors where works are outsourcedCertifying payments to subcontractors and issuing payment noticesAgreeing subcontract terms and conditionsAgreeing bonds and warranties as required on contractsFormulating schedules of works for incorporation into subcontract agreementsVesting materials for off-site payments
