Full time – 37 hours per week

Mon - Thur 8am – 4pm Fri 8am – 3.30pm

Band 2 - Salary Range £24,647 - £26,763 per annum (pro rata)

Distant Island Allowance of £2,380 per annum (pro rata)

An opportunity has arisen for a Laundry Assistant within our team based at Gilbert Bain Hospital Laundry. Applicants must have the ability to carry out all aspects of the role, a good eye for detail, good communication skills and able to take instruction. A full training package for the successful candidate will be provided.

We’re looking for people who share our team-working ethos. Applicants should have a good level of basic education, and a full UK driving licence would be essential. You will need to be able to follow instructions so you can take part in the initial training and induction, which takes place when you start. From there, your manager and colleagues will give you the support you need while you complete your on the job training. The work you do in the Laundry team will be essential to the safe running of the Health Service in Shetland; you will be a valued member of the team and may have the opportunity to develop skills in other areas of the facilities team if you wish.
