CNC Programmer

Due to continued growth a CNC Lathe Programmer is required, for a well established manufacturing company based in Oldbury. For decades this business have been extremely successful in the manufacture of steel products globally, with a fantastic in house machining department for toolmaking and brand new tool creation.The role offers convenient day shift hours, Monday to Friday, a salary of circa £31K basic, overtime, bonuses and a great benefits package.Responsibilities of the CNC Lathe Programmer include -Responsible for programming and setting of 2 axis CNC Turning LathesOnline programming at the machine, working from detailed customer drawingsSetting up tooling, work holding, material, speeds and feedsProducing one off, prototype and small batch parts from blanks and billetsCarry out in-process inspection using measuring equipmentOccasional manual turning when requiredTo be successful in this role, were looking for the following skillsAbility to write new programmes from scratch on CNC 2 axis turning lathesBe able to machine parts from start to finishSound understanding of materials and modern cutting methods.Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours.Work collaboratively with other departments to overcome engineering challenges.Siemens programming experience is ideal, however the business are happy to offer training for the right person too.Working hours 37hrs a week Monday to Friday, which includes an early finish on Friday afternoon tooPackage on offer includes -Basic salary of up to £31K, along with potential rate review after successful probationOvertime paid during the weekCompany pension with matched contributions up to 8%33 days holiday including bank holidaysHealthcare cash planLife assuranceCompany profit share scheme
