Hi, we’re Bloom & Wild. We don’t just send flowers. We help our customers to care wildly. Caring wildly is celebrating the little things we all do for each other every day. Not just the big occasions. It’s being there for the highs. Stepping up for the lows.We care wildly about people and our planet. Which is why we’re so proud to be a certified B Corp™ – committed to making long-term positive change for our community, and the world around us.Founded in 2013, our mission back then was to make sending and receiving flowers the joy that it should be, by harnessing technology, brand and letterbox delivery. We announced £75 million Series D funding in 2021 and that same year acquired bloomon in The Netherlands and Bergamotte in France. Together, we’ve fulfilled and delivered over 20 million orders (and counting!), making us the largest direct to consumer flower business in Europe. Now home to a family of 3 beautiful brands, we’re driven by our vision to create the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful. And we won't stop at flowers and plants. Starting with the Bloom & Wild brand, we're expanding our gifting offering to other categories like cakes, candles and cocktails. This is all part of our ambition to build Europe's #1 direct to consumer gifting destination. Today we are hiring to strengthen our UK division in our UK innovation center in Nuneaton. 🛠️ Team The Operations team at Bloom & Wild is split broadly into three sub-teams, although in practice these sub-teams all work very closely together : Flower sourcing, styling and quality - this team is responsible for purchasing our fresh products like flowers and plants, mainly through direct collaboration with growers around the world. They also manage our inbound supply chain and work closely with our flower supply chain partners to optimise for quality and costs. Within our own and 3rd party warehouses they monitor and optimise for styling and quality. Warehouse Operations - Across our 3 strong brands we have various warehouses across the EU. The teams based at these sites run our daily production and fulfilment operation of all products we sell. The non-horti procurement of addons and packaging items is also part of the scope of this team. They optimise for customer satisfaction, On Time-In Full fulfilment, quality and associated COGS. Logistics & 3rd party fulfilment - managing our partially outsourced sourcing, production and fulfilment in the UK and optimising our delivery organisation in all countries we are active in. The team works closely with our carrier partners (and coordinating our own delivery network) to achieve operational excellence and optimise for customer satisfaction, delivery performance, capacity and associated COGS.As the Site Quality Manager you will be based at the Innovation centre which is situated just outside of Nuneaton (UK) and within easy reach of Coventry M6. The Innovation Centre opened in July 2021 and fulfils orders as part of the range expansion plans. You will guide a quality team of 2 at the UIC and work closely with the UIC site management to ensure everyone is aligned and timely informed to be able to act swiftly where required. 💻 What you’ll be doing As the UIC Site quality manager, you are responsible for the quality of products that leave the warehouse. In essence, you and your team ensure our bouquet longevity promises (8 days at B&W) are being kept throughout this operational environment, and all other (non-perishable) gifting products achieve the highest standards of quality. You do this by managing the quality of our products along the full product lifetime and by driving and facilitating innovations in the UIC together with the Head of the UIC. Your work comprises off roughly two different parts : 1. Prep for the operational business as usual (~70% of time) : - Prior to production : work closely together with Range who design bouquets, select plants that we will sell and set the range of edible and non-edible add-ons to ensure we can keep our promises. For this you have regular meetings with Range + Buying and you will travel 4-6x per year for 1-2 days to the Netherlands to advise on the final range selection.- During production : Coach and instruct your 2 quality colleagues that work on the line and / or take care of our perishable stock ( plants and bouquets) such that they can coach the operations colleagues on the line to ensure all that is leaving the UIC is up to our high standards.- After production : Work together with the Head of UIC to ensure that quality keeps on point. Look into quality issues reported via customer feedback, draw conclusions from these and provide relevant feedback to the team and Head of Quality. 2. Be a key player for UIC innovations (~30% of time) : - You will work closely together with the Head of UIC and with the group’s Head of Quality to drive innovations in the UIC. That can be advising on a proposed new way of producing, advising in setting up a new product line, improving holding times, changing in hydration methodologies, test and advise on new boxes, etc.
