About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality clinical research studies, ensuring patient safety, adherence to protocols, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver clinical research studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess patient eligibility, obtain informed consent, and ensure safe recruitment into studies.
  • Administer investigational products, collect biological samples, and perform clinical assessments as per study protocols.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting adverse events as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date study documentation, including case report forms and electronic data capture systems.
  • Work collaboratively with investigators, research teams, and external stakeholders such as sponsors and regulatory bodies.
  • Educate and support patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring they fully understand the study requirements.
  • Assist in protocol development, feasibility assessments, and site initiation visits.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS research governance and ethical standards.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance research delivery.

Requirements

Essential :

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration .
  • Experience in clinical research and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy, cannulation, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Desirable :

  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Research, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Experience in a research setting within the NHS or private sector.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes, including MHRA and HRA requirements.
  • Training in advanced life support (ALS) or similar certification.
