Design Engineer , £32,000 - £38,000 (DOE), Monday to Friday - no shifts, 32 days holiday, permanent contract, growing company, strong order book, working on bespoke projects.
A Design Engineer is needed to work for an innovative and well-established automotive manufacturing business that is a leader in its field. The role has become available due to company expansion, and there are many interesting projects to work on with a supportive long-standing team in place.
Responsibilities and Tasks :
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for :
- Working on the build of specialist vehicles for both national and international clients.
- Taking the initial brief from the customer and working through the initial stages all the way through to the approval stage.
- Producing full production drawings including BOMs ready to go to the programming stage for full production roll-out.
Key Responsibilities :
Liaising with the Sales / project team and clients to take project briefs.Taking concept models from briefs, ready for customer sign-off.Producing 3D models of concepts to the point of releasing fabrication drawings and DXFs ready for programming - this could be anything from a simple box design to full vehicle bodies.Draughting full manufacturing drawings ready for release to the workshop teams.Creating Bill of Materials, audit trails, and releases of product changes.Liaising with the internal manufacturing team to resolve any production issues.Minimum Requirements :
2 years' experience with strong experience in fabrication design (i.e., plastics and sheet metal materials).Proficient in using Solidworks.Some knowledge of CNC Programming using Alphacam (Desirable).Benefits of the Design Engineer Role :
Salary / Package : £32,000 - £38,000 (Dependent on Experience).
Working Hours : Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4 : 30 pm - Fridays 8 am to 3 : 15 pm.
Holidays : 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
