Senior Structural Engineer Contractor (Offshore Rotation)

The services will be carried out primarily offshore, as part of barge campaigns for South North Sea and Dutch sector assets, on a variety of brownfield modifications and integrity related agreed scopes.

The role will generally be part of a 2-week offshore rotation, working with another engineer back-to-back. Approx 2 days per week may be required for onshore assistance to the offshore engineer.

Scope of Services :

• Carry out engineering survey of structural elements identified as requiring replacement or repair;
• Provide engineering sketches for reinforcement / replacement / modification of steelwork in accordance with standards;
• Review & Approve lift plans;
• Carry out structural checks of structures for lifting / scaffolding / laydown proposals;
• Report progress to barge supervisor & participate in weekly progress meetings;
• Liaise with plant inspector & review inspection findings and carry out integrity checks accordingly. Alternatively determine repair / replacement solutions where required;
• Coordinate with material coordinator to order required supply of loose material for offshore fabrication;
• Raise site queries to ensure visibility by all team members of scope growth;
• Provide support as required for other disciplines, mechanical & piping, rigging, E&I, etc.
• Issue signed off sketches / drawings to Shell DCC.
• Check and approve calculations.
• Ensure scopes are executed offshore in accordance with the design drawings.
• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
• Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on emerging issues
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
