Role Overview Verus is seeking an experienced Senior Games Designer to lead the development and implementation of gameplay features, systems, and mechanics. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of top-quality features aligned with the project’s vision, while also focusing on enhancing the player experience. Responsibilities Take ownership of gameplay features, managing end-to-end implementation. Design engaging mechanics and systems to keep players immersed. Build and refine prototypes using Unreal Engine 5’s blueprint system. Collaborate with the game director and team members to align designs with the overarching vision. Analyze player feedback and make adjustments to improve game quality. Maintain clear, comprehensive, and up-to-date design documentation. Partner with programmers, artists, and other designers to deliver high-quality features on time. Mentor colleagues to support their professional and technical development. Identify risks early and propose effective solutions to ensure smooth delivery. Requirements 5+ years of game design experience, with at least one shipped title (for PC or console). Proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4 / UE5) and the Blueprints system. Strong understanding of game mechanics and player engagement. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
