We currently have an opening for a Head of Communications in our global marketing team. Reporting to the Director of Digital and Communications, you will manage a team of 4 and be responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy for the Crown Group and its portfolio of brands. This covers overseeing both internal and external communications.

Location : London / Hybrid working arrangements

With a passion for marketing and communications, you’ll already be an expert in developing content and executing external customer campaigns. You’ll have a great understanding of how to get the most out of each channel and know intuitively how to create impact in the most efficient and effective way. You will also work with internal stakeholders and a dedicated team member on a range of internal communications to help keep our 3000+ employees updated and engaged.

You’ll be able to lead an array of initiatives, motivate a high-performing team, and drive better communication outcomes for the business. Critically you’ll be great at developing relationships, both local and globally, be an excellent written and verbal communicator, and able to balance competing priorities across the communication mix.

About Crown’s Marketing Team

Crown operates a ‘hub and spoke’ marketing model to develop and execute marketing across its business. This is composed of the Brand Hub central teams, who oversee development of marketing strategies and tactics for Crown’s 5 global brands and the Crown Worldwide Group overall. The Brand Hub team covers brand strategy, digital, communications, insight, and design and collaborates with Crown’s 5 regional marketing teams to drive localized marketing activation of the global strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of the global content strategy for Crown’s global brand portfolio, raising our profile as industry experts to increase brand awareness and fuel new leads and business opportunities.
  • Lead and motivate the Communications team (currently 4 FTE) ensuring quality standards are maintained, whilst driving collaboration with the wider marketing function and business.
  • Manage our Internal Communications Manager and lead on strategic planning and delivery through key internal channels, including Board business update events, announcements, Sharepoint, and Viva Engage (our internal social platform).
  • Oversee and manage Crown Worldwide Group’s PR efforts, working collaboratively with business leaders and regional marketing managers to enhance and protect the company’s reputation.
  • Have overall responsibility for the management of agency partners to ensure their output is of high quality and delivered on time.
  • Develop and maintain Crown’s centralized communications channels, such as social media, and its brand collateral, such as PDFs, infographics, and video assets.
  • Act as a trusted communications advisor for Crown’s Executive Leadership Team, while championing communication excellence across the global marketing team, in line with Crown’s Tone of Voice and communication governance.
  • Provide direction to field marketing teams to drive a continuous pipeline of high-quality, relevant, localized content in support of regional business objectives.

Professional Skills & Qualities

  • Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in marketing communications.
  • Strong experience within B2B and B2C environments.
  • Internal communications, planning, and execution.
  • Experience of operating in an international company.
  • Marketing communication platforms, such as CMS (WordPress), Viva Engage, and Sprout (our social media tool).
